Hostages of Attention
by A.J. Huffman

Fired to incandescence
My eyes spin
wildly
whenever you are near.
And what an illusion.
It brings your smile
every time.
And I know
you know
it’s all a trick.
But anything that draws your touch
is a pain
I am willing
to carry
in my stare.
